To have a warning? So thank you Whoever you are For that deep deep punch Sonal from London FU Cancer You're evil and deadly A silent killer you are, Always waiting and lurking forever near not far You slowly sneak in Like a thief in the night, Encompassing your host Never caring if right You're a beast of the night No heart and no soul, You steal away love You're taking your toll Burning all that you touch You spread like a fire, You're sickness sets in Taking all you desire Why do you exist With the pain you create Devouring all Then One day - too late When your best friend, your dad or your nan is gone, just think about hoe they cared for you, how they thought you shone.
Just remember they love you with all their heart, and take a deep breath, take a new start. When you're worried whether you're making them proud, when everything is silent though you're screaming so loud, And even though they're not there with you, remember no matter how much you love them, they'll always love you too. You never thought it could happen to you or a loved one But when it does everything changes Winter comes faster And summer fades away Oh, I hate cancer's pain.
You touch the bodies of the living And mark them for dead A plague of their own flesh Rampant, raging, you spread. Cruel monster, slithering Through vessels, unknown Multiplying, dividing You plunder, you grow You ravage and destroy Rot the body like wood No care for the innocent No mercy for the good.
Anger is only one letter short of danger. If someone betrays you twice, it is your fault Great minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people. He who loses money, loses much; He who loses a friend, loses much more; He who loses faith, loses all. Beautiful old people are works of art.
Learn from the mistakes of others You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.
Friends, you and me You brought another friend Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift. Back to the top. It cannot cripple love It cannot shatter hope It cannot corrode faith It cannot destroy peace It cannot kill friendship It cannot suppress memories It cannot silence courage It cannot invade the soul It cannot steal eternal life It cannot conquer the spirit.
I'll pray for you as I hope you pray for me In this life don't feel so empty. Come outside and play even if you feel those days are over Feel your face, hands, armslips because they are you Having cancer only makes you realize that life can sometime make you feel blue.
So what! My love has cancer, she is very ill. And It something I will never understand. She is a good girl, with a good heart, this cancer is tearing her apart.

My heart aches to see my love in such displace, Yet she manages to put a smile on her face. I will fight the fight, by her side. She will get well, but things will not be the same, I will love her till this is through. And this is the story of Rose, my adopted grandparent and what her eyes seemed to be saying to the world. Thank you. I just did a search on nursing home poems and came up with quite a few listings in my search.Google carddav url
I am a housekeeper at a home here in my home town. I kind of agree with the auther, but we do not have faded and wilted trees at our facility, but I do think that we need more cenas to cover for the residents as there are a lot of times that i see lights on for long periods at a time and there are only certain things I can do and a lot of things i can not do for them because i am a housekeeper. I loved the poem! I woked in a home for 23 yrs.
A smile from the nurse might be the only sunshine a patient sees all day: remember to shine YOURS always! This poem was sad and beautiful but does not hold true to the Nursing Home I have spent the last 20 years devoting my life to.
I am an activity director and when you are not there as family and friends we as staff members are. Our curtains are not faded, our bushes are alive and so is our home with laughter and love. I hope a happier poem may follow so the old myth that a nursing home is just a place to die is replaced with a new truth that it truly can be a place to live also.
So true, and very empathic - the elderly have a story to tell - look into their eyes and you will see a beauty, a full life that has been lived and a wealth of wisdom! Thank you so much 4 writing this touching poem, I hope when someone else reads this and if they have a loved one in a nursing home they will pay them a visit because they are lonely in there and n my case i never had the time 2 go see my great-grandmother and she died a sorrowful death because she was alone with no one 2 understand her.

A worker barges in my room, As if it's no big deal. What ever happened to courtesy? Just a little knock. Do you think I'm just a vegetable, Laying here like a rock? What ever happened to manners? I haven't got a clue. I know I can not talk, Or even joke around. But I'm well aware of everything, and also every sound.

If you have another worker help, change me during rounds. Please don't talk about me, as if I'm not around. Treat me with respect, the same I'd give to you. My bones are stiff and achy, I hear you say I'm contracted. My belly hurts, I haven't pooped, I hope I'm not impacted. I'm sorry I may drool, and at times I even stare. It's not easy being old, aging isn't fair. These are the cards God dealt me, There's nothing I can do. I used to be a lively one, just like your pretty self.Target sterilite gasket box
I traveled, married, and worked long hours until I lost my health. I press my light to see a face, Or just for company. For someone just to look inside, and realize that I'm ME. Sometimes we get so caught up in our jobs that we forget what we truly represent. We get frustrated, aggravated, pushed to the limits and so mentally tired that we feel what is the use in being a Nurse. But then someone gives us a weak smile or holds our hand and may say "thank you, you are so special.
Courage where there is despair. Acceptance when the end is near. A touch gentle with tenderness, patience, and love. And, always remember, all Nurses are truly blessed. For you see God gave of Hearts of Gold. Why do I study all hours of the night? I do it because one day I will celebrate new baby born.
And, one day help a family mourn.

It makes me have courage and determination. Some people will curse or bless you. But every day they will teach you something new. That is why I study all nght. And, why I put us such a fight. Because one day, a Nurse I will be. To help people like you and me. Paul found this poem tucked away in a small photo album belonging to his mother.
It was a game we all played as a child Then some of us made it a dream worthwhile More to learn, not as much time to share Because in our hearts we really cared.
